Hello there! Welcome to Wordsmith Tutoring! My name is A.M. Greyson, though most people call me Alex. This is a place for writers of every kind. Some are tackling school assignments, while others are creating stories, articles, games, or professional projects. Myself? I’ve made writing my profession, and now I help others strengthen their skills, find their voice, and bring their ideas to life.

Professional Writing Experience

I have worked as a professional writer, editor, content designer, and documentation specialist, creating content for video games, websites, support platforms, articles, and business communications.

My professional experience includes work with Amazon Games, Kongregate, Arkadium, and Publishers Clearing House. At Arkadium, I also created content for games distributed through major media platforms, including CNN, USA Today, and The Huffington Post.

Working across different industries has taught me that strong writing is not limited to essays or grammar rules. It is about understanding an audience, organizing ideas, solving problems, and communicating with purpose.

Teaching and Mentorship

Beyond professional writing, I have always enjoyed helping others learn.

I have worked directly with young writers through educational and community programs, including collaborating with the World Science Festival in New York City and helping establish a Girls Who Code chapter in partnership with Jericho Middle School.

Through that program, I developed lesson plans and taught participants how to write, design, and build games while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Why I Created Wordsmith Tutoring

I created Wordsmith Tutoring because writing is about much more than grades and assignments. Writing is how we organize our thoughts, communicate ideas, solve problems, tell stories, and express who we are.

Many people know what they want to say but struggle to organize those ideas on the page. Others have strong ideas but lack confidence, structure, or a reliable process for turning them into finished work.

My goal is to make writing feel less intimidating by breaking it into clear, manageable steps. Each learning path is shaped around the writer’s goals, interests, experience, and individual way of thinking.

Writing in the Age of AI

AI is becoming part of school, work, and everyday life. It can be a useful tool for brainstorming, feedback, organization, and revision, but it should never replace creativity, critical thinking, judgment, or personal expression.

Strong writing skills are more important than ever. Wordsmith Tutoring helps writers use technology responsibly while continuing to develop their own ideas, abilities, and authentic voices.

Whether someone wants to improve an essay, write a story, create a game world, explore journalism, prepare for a career, or simply become more confident, the goal remains the same: to help them write clearly, think creatively, and enjoy the process.
